I began to learn about Lenovo computers recently when I became employed at Better Direct. They are some really amazing machines. I have a pretty expensive desktop at home and I thought I had done my research. It has one of the largest storage units for memory at 1Tb and it has a quad core processing unit which allows it to handle many tasks simultaneously. I also have a top of the line monitor and a 500GB external hot-swap hard drive. I realized after working here why my computer is not the best thing on the market and never was. One of my biggest complaints about my computer is that it takes too long to start up or shut down. This process usually takes over a minute and can even take as long as 10 minutes. Lenovo has engineered something called “Turbo Boost 2.0”, which can power up Windows in as little as 4 seconds and power down a computer in as little as 10 seconds. This could seriously improve production for any business because the less time someone is waiting for a computer to reboot, the more time they spend actually working. It also has the ability to freeze a hard drive temporarily when it detects unexpected motion. This protects the hard drive from unexpected failures and the company recognizes that failure is not a matter of if, but when. For this reason Lenovo has also created a replacement system that allows someone to retrieve data from a failed hard drive and never asks the customer to return it for repair. They can actually send out a repair person within 4 hours to repair failed hardware if needed. These are a few reasons why I love Lenovo and I can’t wait to replace my desktop with a quality workstation from Lenovo.
