I had a recent conference with IBM on their MaaS360 Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solution by Fiberlink and I came away quite impressed with the product. IBM is well known for capturing the lead technology companies out there and blending them with their total business solution. In conversation, there were several critical issues that immediately rose to the top when considering a top notch solution. Questions that were at the front of the mobility focus is that companies need to understand how many devices and mobile platforms do you support? Do you have corporate document security for both your employee owned and corporate owned devices?
I asked the tough questions on how applications, both corporate and private are handled and how are you able to distribute corporate approved content to your workforce? I like the fact that the solution is cloud based and simple to use. I also like that Gartner in 2014 Magic Quadrant for EMM Suites said Maas360 was a leader in EMM. I took away some key points on why this is a product that leads the way. It is scalable from 10-10,000; IBM deployed to over 70,000 users; It is cloud based, so you can set policies as needed to keep up with developing applications and keep corporate information secure. Lastly, they talked about the whole drop box file storage issue, where mobility users have a personal account where they store corporate documents. MaaS360 uses a container like system to keep all the emails, apps, documents, and web access across all devices in your enterprise secure. This a product to all enterprises should consider when looking to solve corporate security issues with mobile devices.
