Every sales person has heard of the rules of sales. Many sales people forget about them constantly and it shows in their numbers. Today, I am going to share some of the sales rules that I follow. I can’t say that these are the only ways to make sales but I can say that following them helps. You will be more successful in your attempts and receive less rejection if you utilize my suggestions.
Rule 1. Coffee is for closers!
When you are energetic and excited about being at work, it shows and people like speaking and working with happy people.
Rule 2. It is not what you know, it is who you know.
People like to work with and buy from people they like. It is more important to build a relationship with your buyer than make a sale. The better the relationship, the more often the sale will be made.
Rule 3. It is not what you say, but how you say it.
Often people will only hear a portion of what is being said so it is extremely important to place voice infliction properly and emphasize your important points so they are remembered.
Rule 4. Listen, listen, and listen some more.
People will tell you everything you need to know to make the sale if you listen closely enough. Also people recognize that you actually care about their needs when you listen and pay attention.
Rule 5. Honesty is the best policy.
Most people can tell when they are being lied to or when someone is beating around the bush. Be upfront, clear, and honest because people can tell when you are being honest and they will only give you their trust if they know you are being honest.
These are the sales rules I live by and they have been the founders of my success. I don’t claim to be the best sales person, but I am definitely far from the worst. If you wish to be successful in your endeavors, follow my advice and the rules that will provide no fail sales.
